January 2023 MA/PG Dip in Special & Inclusive Education

ICEP Europe are delighted to be offering a brand new Postgraduate Diploma/ Masters in Inclusive and Special Education, in collaboration with Hibernia College. This online course officially launched last July and this week, we welcomed our second intake of students on to the programme.

The team from ICEP Europe and Hibernia College met the new cohort of participants at our induction day in Maynooth last Saturday. An exciting element of this programme is that we have people from a variety of different backgrounds. We like to describe this as inclusion in action. Our new group consists of early years, primary, post primary and special education teachers but also those from non-educational settings such as social work, who are looking to create a more inclusive environment.

There was lots of enthusiasm and energy in the room at the induction day! After an introduction from Programme Director, Dr. Deirdre MacIntyre & Academic Dean, Dr. Mary Kelly, participants got a tour of our Virtual Learning Platform from Fran McKeagney, Head of Digital Learning. This was followed by a glimpse into the core module Inclusion with tutor, Julie Ann Fleming.

We’ve had lots of positive feedback about the programme, particularly about the helpfulness of the tutors, the quality of the course, support from classmates and the effectiveness of our live online classes. We are really looking forward to seeing current students back for their next module as well as welcoming the next cohorts in for the 2023 intakes. Dr. Deirdre MacIntyre, Programme Director
