Dr Eileen Winter
Professor Emeritus
Dr Eileen Winter is an experienced educator and educational psychologist and serves as a Research Advisor with ICEP Europe. She spent a number of years working in education in Canada and taught a range of Educational Psychology and Inclusion courses at York University, Ontario, Nipissing University, Ontario, and OISE (University of Toronto). Before joining ICEP Europe, Eileen lectured in psychology at the School of Education, Queen’s University, Belfast.
Dr Winter also spent time in New Zealand at the University of  Canterbury investigating special needs policies, practices, and provision with a particular focus on teacher education for inclusive schools and classrooms. Eileen’s research focus is in the area of special needs and inclusion with particular reference to the training and preparation of new and experienced teachers for inclusive classrooms. She has recently completed a number of major funded research projects related to Inclusion.
 Eileen sits in an advisory capacity across the education, training, and research initiatives undertaken by ICEP Europe ensuring all strategies, policies, and procedures are in place and reflect ICEP Europe’s goals and values. She is involved in the development of the undergraduate and graduate offerings on special needs, inclusion and psychology in ICEP’s collaborative programmes. Eileen is currently completing a research project on the issues arising from school closures, pandemic restrictions and the implications for pupils’ academic achievement. Â
